Well about a week or two later Dan brought up an add in maximum ink up to study hall we looked through it and found two possible candidates one was a guy who was into ska and punk but he was only 15 and we would have to drive but he was on our list cause he liked punk. And then there was another add from a guy named rob he was into new metal like system of a down and stuff so he was also on our list the rest of the stuff was blues stuff and other weird shit. We decided that Dan would call rob and I would call the other guy well I being the lazy guy didn’t call but Dan did and he set up a practice time. Now we waited we didn’t know what he was like except that he sounded cool on the phone and he sounded really into the band idea, we didn’t know how good he was and up to this point we still didn’t know who would do what if I would be bass or if Dan would we figured it would be who ever felt more up to it on the day of. I can still remember the day clearly in my head it was about 2 in the afternoon and we were waiting for rob to get to my house then I was informed that some one was at the door, we went down stairs introduced our selves and carried in his stuff. He looked professional with the equipment that he had so I was nervous cause I had a stupid broken amp (which is still not working right to this day), which was not that loud. But we got every thing situated in my room and it turned out that I would play bass and then it happened rob played a song he had for a while that he didn’t have a name for (it later turned into package for all of u old ano fans) and it was cool as hell and for some reason I found out some thing to play it was like I just knew what I was doing or at least my hands did cause what we created that day was really cool. The practice went great and we set up another one up to be at his place. We started pumping out songs left and right and then came the day when Dan decided to sing... he was very nervous so he got drunk... makes sense doesn’t it? I didn’t say it at the time but what Dan did that night blew me away it was awesome.

We were now a band but we needed a drummer so I thought it was back to the classified adds but Dans cousin Rick played drums and he wasn’t in a band so we called him up and he came with us to robs. Rick did really well and we were really excited we wanted to play a show really bad but we knew we needed time still, then I got a phone call from a guy who had seen one of my flyers for my zine and asked if I was in a band I said yeah and he asked if we wanted to play a show in Milwaukee of course I said we wanted to wait for a cool show, yeah right I said hell yeah we would. Not only did we have a show but it was in Milwaukee that was awesome. When the day came we were nervous as hell I showed up late cause I had to pick up some friends but when I got there I swear u could of cut the tension with a knife (I have a pic that illustrates this perfectly Dan looks like he could puke) we were waiting I was smoking like a fiend and robs was drinking. It came time for us to start playing we started with "Another" and we found out that the sound sucked and we couldn’t hear each other at all so we had to stop and start over but then it went ok pretty good for our first show we didn’t get booed off the stage actually people liked us and clapped and we felt really good. We then had this other show called indie fest and that was by far the biggest crowd we had about 500-600 people it was awesome I actually think we had the biggest crowd of all the bands that were playing. We had a couple more shows then we decided to record a demo cause every one asked us if we had any thing recorded. Me and Dan one day heard an add for good and loud music in Madison which said they did recording for local bands so we wrote down the contact info down on the side walk with some of my nieces chalk and we called them a lil while later that week. So what will happen to American no one?? Will they be foiled by high prices for recording time?? Will they get screwed? Stand on pins and needles and come back next week same bat time same bat channel... nope just kidding im sorry I was watching the old batman on TV today and that’s been in my head all day so any ways where were we oh yeah the studio (eeeew) this was at least an experience we didn’t really come out of it with a good sounding cd but we did get to know what we want to do next time we go into the studio. Any ways we ended up not paying the full amount for the recording so I guess we came out ok but we still weren’t happy with it. Well now we enter anos first real dark period where we weren’t sure if we would be a band... rob had been missing practices and not calling us for weeks at a time and we were worried the first time but then when it happened again we were pissed. Then Dan got a message and it was rob saying that he figured that we knew he was out of the band cause of his work schedule but we had other ideas why he quit. Any ways now we had to find a guitarist. Again I feared having to turn to the classified adds but we needed one so I did, and I found nothing then our friend nick wanted to jam and me and Dan were up for it actually we asked him if he wanted to play in our band and he said yes so we practiced it was fun and I totally had to change styles we went from metal to punk in like a month. We are now ready to start playing shows again I don’t know if any one will read this cause I did just preview it and its really long but I hope some one does. I did miss some stuff that I should of put in but that’s for another time im out I have to watch some movies like porn lol
